For many years, I have dreamed of earning an honest living by doing clothing alterations and simple sewing repairs from home. I have the skills and experience, but I do not own a sewing machine, which makes it impossible for me to start. Many people in my community need school uniforms repaired, trousers shortened, dresses altered, and zips replaced. These are services I know I can provide, but without the proper equipment, I have to turn away every opportunity. A reliable sewing machine would allow me to begin earning an income from home, support my family, and become financially independent instead of relying on assistance from others. Every alteration I complete would help me buy food, pay household expenses, and slowly grow my small business. My long-term goal is to save enough to eventually purchase an industrial sewing machine and employ another person from my community.
